One guide to rule them all: How a style guide brings consistency to your plain language program

How can a style guide help you to build a culture of plain language in your workplace? How can it help you deliver services that users understand?

Join our expert panelists for a dynamic discussion.

First, they will share their experiences in developing and implementing style guides. Lara Ghadban of Canada’s Social Security Tribunal will talk about how a style guide can lessen the awful effects of legalese in decisions about who is entitled to public benefits. Brian Lieb will explain how Hennepin County fosters plain language in the delivery of a wide range of public services.

Then we will break into small groups that will allow you to ask questions and discuss the issues around the use of style guides that concern you.

Space is limited!

To allow for discussion in small groups, we will allow for a maximum of 60 participants. This workshop is open to both members of the Center and the general public.

Join the Center! As a member, you benefit from the lower price for this webinar, and you become part of a growing network of people from all disciplines. We are all committed to advancing plain language! Click HERE for more information on membership.
